summer break update #3
tech news! lol... just something that i've found out recently... u know those cd-keys that we enter when we install cds... there's this starforce security for protecting copyrighted cd.. it calculates some data from the cd and compares with the cd-key that u enter... these data are collected from the different sectors.. meaning, uniquely each cd spins at different speeds.. hence different sectors which data collected and it combines to give a different cd-key.. hence.. even if u make a copy of the cd, using the original cd-key, it just wouldn't work! is that smart or what? lol... apparently no one managed to "crack" starforce yet.. or maybe i havent found a site to do that.. however, 1 lucky guy copied the disc to a certain brand of cd-r and manage to get it running coz both the discs calculated the same logarithm for the cd-key! heh!
ps: if i get any of the jargons wrong, please dont flame me!
